I think that they will sell the bonus pack separately later. They know that they have thousands of customers like us who couldn't get a credit card(in my case i would need a international CC) and they know that they can make money from us.

Anyway, at least i hope they offer it later...

i ask me since over 2 years now, why those fools of Anet don't got yet finally into their O-Store the dumb normal ways of paying per transfer or by debit ...

The 2 most simple ways of paying something online via your bank account > Online Banking -_-

How stupid must those people of Anet are, to think, that realizing online Banking for their O-Shop and/or playNC-Site is "too difficult" ... when there exists hundred thousands of internetsites in the god damn WWW, for that is Online Banking the normalst thing of the entire silly World.

Even normal Online-Stores, like the famous "amazon" let the people use simple Online Banking, without making such silly excuses like "this is too complicated"

God, Anet, for the sake of your dumb O-Store, when you really want to promote this "thing" really, enable FINALLY normal Online Banking per transfer/debit ...only then your shop will have success and people may buy from it, when you as buyer will receive then also a full original Game with PACKING and no dumb shitty Code only ...
Because then the Buyer has no real reason anymore, to go into real Shops and to buy the Game there then, when the Buyer could make itself it alot easier just by buying the Game and receiving it per post... for a little + of paying a bit more money ...
===============

But the the BMP ...

This promotion is imo the biggest KICK into our Asses of loyal player, Anet could do and Anet is somewhat of blind and don't realizes this !!!, No they are only blinded by money and are proud of their Stuff, that will kill millions of loyal players into the ass. How small minded must those people of Anet be, to be proud of, to kick loyal gamers into the ass by such ("Give us money, or you won't receive anything as loyal player" mentalities..."you can own all games + the add on, but it will count nothing for us, unless you give us 26€+ by buying shit that you don't need anymore via our crap O-Store that is only a joke of a good O-Store without being able to easily use online banking"...)

God, when there would be a price, for the dumbest O-Store of MMO's, Anet would have won it for GW...
Those "alternatives" are a bad, they are really complicated and alot more complicated then making it via Online Banking.

To the reason of "its to complicated, because of different kinds of money" ..Online banking via transfer is also the easiest solution of all, because its regardless of what kind of money you pay something.

Say you are European, but you want buy something, that will cost US Dollars, per online banking, your bank will automatically tranfer the correct sum of Euro , as when you would have bought your stuff with US-Dollars. And the banks of Anet can easily convert Euros back to US Dollar (insert kind of money, whatever you want, ever the same stuff), thats all stuff, Anet has not to move one finger for, which means, they have nothing to do with the money, anet will ever receive their correct monky, working does only the bank of Anet which receives the transfers of us players ...
The only thing that Anet has naturally has to do is to say their bank, in which kind of money they have to exchange the transfers, do this all with a switzer bank, and nothing can go wrong ...

I hope for the sake of this Game and for the believe of human intelligence, that Anet will hopefully not be so dumb and don't put it later in the O-Shop, which will hopefully got until then the possibility, to use normal online banking for paying stuff.

This alternative of VOIP, this paying per telephone call over a voice panel, hmm, this would be one alterntive, when it gets ensured, that Handys are included, also via prepaid card... but until now, this isn't implemented yet also in the shop and the time is ticking down for us all, in 2 weeks the BMP-Action is over and when until then no significant changes were done, that will really enable each dumb kiddy to buy somethign in their O-Store to receive the BMP, then thats really sad and will show only, that Anet understands a shit about E-Marketing Management, sry to say that, but it is truth, when it will end so...

ps. signed for anything, what makes finally the o-Store a good O-Store (simple normal online Banking included)

For those who don't have credit cards (I only have a debit card, but that works. Cut up all the credit cards.) you have the option of a debit card through your bank -or- a pre-paid credit card. In addition, I know that the online store is looking into other means of payment... hopefully they pull that off soon.
They will get even more money if they sell the mission pack individually.

Don't sweat it people who don't have credit cards to buy stuff through the online store.

Soon they'll make the BMP available for a small price... through the online store!

Zing!

*ahum*

Sorry for that, couldn't resist.

Yeah, it sucks. Too bad. We'll see.

I'm sure they'll just make it free for everyone after a few weeks/months. Or release a disc when a few more bonus missions have been made.

Care to back your claim with some actual statistics?

I have a guildmate in Germany who was able to purchase items from the Online Store with no trouble, yet Germany is one of the places where they had a problem with the payment options.

Ever think that maybe, just maybe, they calculated the potential losses caused by using this method and found that this would still get them more money? It's not like they just have meetings where they yell out ideas and then do them without first doing some research.

Payment options in the online store is another issue and should be a separate thread. I didn't make the thread to debate payment options. The subject at hand is the availability of the Bonus Mission Pack and how it's unfair to those that already have all 3 campaigns and EoTN. Yes, I do agree that they should make more options available (paypal would be a big plus, and if you read Gaile's latest communications you will see that she is pushing to have paypal added to the online store). But that is not the subject of this thread.

---------------------------------------------------

In response to Melody Cross:
I didn't support your threads against the online store because I do not have a problem with them having the online store. I think it's a great option for people. I DO however share your opinion that there should NOT be PvP unlock packs. I think it was a hard blow on the PvE aspect giving the PvP unlock packs as an option because it lowered people participating in PvE and that is another reason they had to add heroes (among other things). However, I did not voice those feelings because it is my personal biased opinion because I enjoy PvE. I am open-minded and realize that some people do not enjoy PvE and only wanted to do PvP so the unlock packs were great for them. But the bottom line there was that they had a CHOICE to purchase it if they wanted it. They didn't have to purchase a bunch of stuff they did NOT want or need to get the PvP unlock packs like they are making us do with the Bonus Mission Pack.

---------------------------------------------------

As for the post about me not buying EoTN from the online store... I didn't buy it from the online store because I didn't buy it at ALL. It was bought for me as a gift by my best friend before I had a chance to buy it myself. I probably would of bought it from the online store just to get the Bonus Mission Pack.
But the bottom line is not even "how you bought EoTN" ... it's the disregard for those that have bought all 4 releases for Guild Wars and forcing them to make a purchase they may not want or need just to get the Bonus Mission Pack.

------------------------------------------------------

If they DO make it available to everyone as a purchase later, then this thread accomplished it's goal. I'm not saying it would be because of this thread (they could already have this planned), but it is the results I am trying to get other players support for so that ArenaNet/GW Staff/NCSoft takes notice.

True, but it's probably most profitable to first milk more sales through the online store with this method. Once the current bonus pack offer is over in November they can start selling it separately and get the rest of the cash in. I'd expect a separate purchase option in January perhaps.

Maybe it's unfair to an extent but they're not running a charity. From a business point of view it looks like a very smart thing to do.

Sorry but they advertised this promo for quite a long time before GWEN came out. So if you were going to buy GWEN, and wanted the BMP, why didn't you just buy GWEN online? That's what I did.

Also, as has been pointed out, if CC was the problem there are plenty of pre-paid card options out there.

Just my 2 cents...

Agree. I purchased GW:EN in the online store just to get the bonus missions. All my other game purchases were in a brick and mortar store.

^pretty much explains it.

And this was announced a while a go, if you didnt bother to buy anything between the given time, thats not ANET's fault.

/seconded

This subject is three or four months old... people even had the choice of buying GW:EN to cover the requirement (and get a better deal than a lame 16page manual)

Like a few others I missed out on the promo since I got GWEN in the store and at most I only want 2 more character slots and the 1mil upgrade.

I hope it doesnt cost more than £8 in the store when it does come out...

I don't think it's stupid, they announced it around or even before GW:EN release, you could just have bought that online.

Btw, anyone know what the cost is in euro?
